摘要
Future use of diesel-fueled vehicles in urban areas may become contingent upon removal of most of the soot that is present in the exhaust of these vehicles. Ceramic filters used to remove soot can be regenerated by intermittent combustion of the accumulated soot. Two reactors are described that allow investigation of the ignition and combustion phenomena that affect filter regeneration. Results of experiments performed with the reactors are presented.
