ANHARMONIC EFFECTS IN UNDERCOOLED LIQUIDS

摘要
Recent neutron data indicate a close connection between the fast picosecond relaxations in the undercooled liquid and the soft localized vibrations which coexist and interact with the sound waves in the glassy state, giving rise to the boson peak in neutron and Raman scattering. The damping and the softening of these modes is estimated within a simple Gruneisen-type model.
