CYTOPHOTOMETRIC MEASUREMENTS ON VITRO CULTIVATED EPIDERMIS-CELLS OF SKIN OF PATIENTS WITH PSORIASIS VULGARIS

The DNS-contents of epidermis-cells of the normal skin of nonpsoriatic persons and of clinically healthy skin of psoriatic persons remote from foci was immediately measured after trypsination and cytophotometrically in short-time cultures by help of the integrating microdensitometre after Deeley. The following observations were made: 1. With regard to the distribution of DNS the two examined groups harmonize immediately after trypsination and during the culture. 2. DNS-synthetisising cells are only traceable in the stratum basale in the clinically healthy skin of psoriatic persons and in normal skin. 3. No indications were to be found for an increased synthesis of DNS in latently psoriatic skin. © 1968 Springer-Verlag.
