MICROSTRUCTURAL STUDY OF HEXAFERRITE RELATED-COMPOUNDS - Z(BA3CU2FE24O41) AND BAFE2O4 PHASE

摘要
A preliminar study of the solid state reactions at T>1300°C in order to form the Cu substituted Y-type hexagonal ferrite (Ba2Cu2Fe12O22), revealed the presence of crystals of Z(Ba3Cu2Fe24O41) and of barium monoferrite (BaFe2O4) between the final reaction products. A microstructural study by means of high resolution electron microscopy (HREM) of crystals of the Z phase, revealed the presence of disordered intergrowths of M and Y blocks preserving the Z phase stoichiometry. HREM observations in the case of the BaFe2O4 phase confirm the presence of twins, previously predicted from X-ray data. © 1990.
