摘要
A rising standard of living for the world's growing population means increasing world energy consumption. Energy production is mainly based on fossil fuels - non-renewable resources that may change the global climate. Developing non-fossil energy sources is highly capital-intensive. This, in a nutshell, is the long-term energy problem, here reviewed quantitatively. © 1990.
