摘要：

The physical principles leading to the essential properties of Magnetic Materials for Recording are stressed since it is here that research and development is most conducive to progress. Clearly the physico-chemical methods of materials preparation are of equal importance and these are also mentioned. The major part of this review is concerned with the properties of modern recording media, both particulate and thin film.
