FLASH-PHOTOLYSIS TIME-RESOLVED MASS-SPECTROMETRIC INVESTIGATIONS OF THE REACTIONS OF CF3O2 AND CF3O RADICALS WITH NO

Flash photolysis with time-resolved mass spectrometry was used to study the reactions of CF3O2 and CF3O radicals with NO in the pressure range 2-30 Torr at 293+/-1 K. The CF3O2 (reactant) and NO2 (product) signals were simultaneously monitored. The reaction rate constant from either the reactant or the product signal was determined to be (1.57+/-0.31)X10(-11) cm(3) molecule(-1) s(-1) and was found to be independent of pressure in the range 2-30 Torr. Modeling of a secondary reaction between CF3O and NO was done by monitoring NO decay rates and the reaction rate constant was determined to be (4.72+/-0.30)X10(-11) cm(3) molecule(-1) s(-1).
