摘要
Magneto-optical Faraday effect in discontinuous magnetic media was analyzed by employing the matrix approach method. The discontinuous media have a one-dimensional array structure composed of magnetic materials (width D-M) and air gaps (width D-G) which are aligned alternately. The analysis reveals that, when the medium meets the condition of D-M<lambda<2(D-M+D-G), the Faraday spectrum varies considerably due to the discontinuous structure.
