摘要：

'Intertemporal consistency' means that the activities an individual plans now to carry out in the future are the activities that she actually carries out when the future arrives. This paper examines two ideas: Are individuals intertemporally consistent? If not, what are the implications of inconsistency for aggregate economic behavior? An experiment to test for consistency is described. Individuals were not individually consistent but there was consistency in the aggregate. Implications of aggregate consistency are discussed. © 1991.
