PERFORMANCE OF GAS MICROSTRIP CHAMBERS ON GLASS WITH IONIC AND ELECTRONIC CONDUCTIVITY

摘要
The initial measurements realized with microstrip gas chambers on glass with ionic and electronic conductivity are presented. Gains up to approximately 10(4) and energy resolution of about 8% have been obtained for low rate 22 keV X-rays. Time dependence of gain at different counting rates has also been investigated. The usage of semiconductive glass results in stable in time behavior of the gain at rates up to approximately 10(5) Counts/(mm2s). The feasibility of work of these chambers with high pressure gas, that may lead to the development of new high efficient X-ray detectors with high resolution and rate capability, has been demonstrated.
