摘要
Three novel processes for the synthesis of aqueous dispersions of acrylic polymers are described. In each case, stabilisation of the latex is attributed to the presence of water‐soluble polymer chains grafted to the surface of the polymer particles. Acrylic latices comprising grafted, non‐ionic poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) stabiliser show excellent stability in surface coating applications and superior resistance properties, in both air dried and thermally cured coatings. Latices stabilised with grafted polyelectrolyte are useful in thermosetting paints for spray application. Copyright © 1990 Hüthig & Wepf Verlag
