摘要
In an effort to explain the discrepancy between more recent and earlier studies, pieces of the tensile specimens of stoichiometric Fe//3Al used in a previous investigation were studied. The data indicate that transgranular cleavage is the expected fracture mode in ordered Fe//3Al at room temperature. None of the specimens tested in four point bending exhibited fracture below yielding, i. e. , brittle failure.
