A NEW GENERALIZED EQUATION FOR PREDICTING VOLUMES OF COMPRESSED LIQUIDS

On the basis of reduced PVT data of liquids in the literature, a new generalized PVT equation for predicting volumes or densities of compressed liquids is proposed: {A figure is presented} where A = Σ5i=0aiTir and B = Σ2j=0bjωj. All the parameter values are determined by fitting with experimental data. In comparing the predicted volumes with experimental values, the overall average absolute percent deviation of 1126 data points is 0.96 for the equation proposed and 2.83 for the Yen-Woods correlation; and that of 1065 data points is 0.84 for the equation proposed and 1.44 for the COSTALD correlation. © 1990.
