NONLINEAR TLSS CONTRIBUTION TO THE SOUND-VELOCITY OF GLASSES

摘要
The nonlinear two-level systems (TLS's) contribution to the sound velocity of dielectric glasses has been calculated. The nonlinear effects become noticeable when amplitude d of the modulation of the TLS energy E is bigger than temperature T In the strong nonlinear case d much greater than T the contribution of TLS's to the sound velocity is proportional to (T/d)2. It is shown that their contribution depends logarithmically on the time of experiment.
