摘要：

Penicillin-resistant viridans streptococci are being isolated with increasing frequency. The emergence of serious infections due to these resistant strains in neutropenic cancer patients is a cause for major concern and has important clinical implications. The increase in penicillin-resistant viridans streptococci has complicated the antibiotic therapy of infective endocarditis.
