摘要
The objective of the present investigation is, first, to delineate the role of refractive index and unimodal size distributions in determining the relevant optical characteristics of smoke and dust aerosols. Second, the importance of these optical characteristics in the perturbations to the transfer of solar and long-wave radiation is analyzed. The significance of variations in particle sizes and the vertical distribution of the aerosols are explicitly examined. Changes in total aerosol loadings are also considered. Refs.
