摘要
The mechanism of electrochemical oxidation of diphenyl disulfide depends on the applied working potential and the medium. At low potential it is a two-electron process leading to the postulated cation Ph-S+. By reactions with terminal alkynes in the presence of nucleophiles diketo compounds of the type R-CO-CO-S-Ph were obtained. Alternatively, under acidic conditions, it was possible to direct the reaction to the formation of an oligomer, namely the cyclohexa-1,4-phenylene sulfide, or a conductive polyparaphenylene sulfide (PPS).
