摘要
The critical cooling rate of amorphous Pd40Ni40P20 was measured by applying a fluxing technique under a well controlled cooling environment. It was found that the critical rate is approximately 0.75 K s-1 for a approximately 7-mm-diam specimen. This simply implies a steady-state nucleation frequency of approximately 10(-2) cm-3 s-1 which is the smallest ever found in a metallic system.
