摘要
Plots of polarographic half-wave potentials in dimethylformamide and acetonitrile vs. σ for substituted chlorobenzenes, bromobenzenes, iodobenzenes, and benzyl bromides indicate a negatively charged potentialdetermining transition state. These and similar results by others rule out an SN1-type mechanism. © 1968, American Chemical Society. All rights reserved.
