摘要
Artificial gas bubbles, approximately 1 mm diameter, were made and attached to a needle tip in n-hexane. Breakdown voltage was reduced by the presence of the bubble. Gaseous discharges which could be detected by a photomultiplier occurred inside the bubble. The motion of the bubble was observed by a high-speed camera. Before breakdown, a bubble moved to the plane electrode, leaving the negative needle, while the bubble never left the positive needle. The breakdown mechanism of the gas bubble n-hexane composite is discussed.
