A NEW PERIODIC ANTIPHASE BOUNDARY STRUCTURE WITH AN UNUSUALLY LONG PERIOD IN THE ALLOY NB5GA13

摘要
The structure of Nb//5Ga//1//3 has been reexamined. It is found that the structure is an unusually long period antiphase boundary derivative of the DO//2//2 structure. The space group is I4//1/amd with lattice parameters a equals 3. 78 Angstrom and c equals 80. 2 Angstrom. The superstructure is clearly composition-driven, with the nonconservative antiphase boundaries accommodating the excess niobium atoms.
