CELLULASE AND HEMICELLULASE FORMATION BY FUNGI USING CORN STOVER AS THE SUBSTRATE

摘要
The production of cellulase and hemicellulase enzymes by 16 fungi are compared using 20-mesh untreated corn stover as the substrate. The experimental results show that several fungi have potential for use in producing cellulase and hemicellulase due to the observed higher activities in comparison to Trichoderma viride. One of these fungi, Aspergillus terreus, was studied further by observing the effects of chemical and mechanical pretreatments on enzyme activity. These experiments showed that neither chemical nor mechanical pretreatment techniques are warranted in enhancing cellulase and hemicellulase activity. © 1990.
