摘要：

Extensive regional mapping allows the scale of economically significant Tertiary fans in the northern North Sea to be quantified and compared. Despite having volumes that vary by three orders of magnitude, the fans are revealed (1) to be small compared with the largest modern fans and (2) to have approximately constant net sand volume to gross sediment volume ratios of around 20-30%.
