摘要
The effects of pressure and electrolyte concentration on cathodic contact glow discharge electrolysis of aqueous LiOH on platinum have been studied. It is concluded that the volumetric rate of gas evolution is the determining factor for the onset of a glow discharge, although solvent evaporation due to Joule heating might have some influence. The discharges obtained at low pressures are very stable and appear suitable for studies of the chemistry of energetic species generated at the electrode.
