摘要：

In designing apparatus for a systematic study of speech production processes, an x-ray system is developed to observe tongue movements of a Japanese subject uttering syllable sequences. A high-voltage flying-spot x-ray microbeam generator is constructed for computer-controlled radiography and preliminary experiments reported on automatic tracking of pellets placed on the tongue.
