FINITE-ELEMENT ANALYSIS OF MULTIPLE-BOLTED JOINTS IN ORTHOTROPIC PLATES

摘要
A finite element stress analysis of a double-bolted mechanical joint (fastener) in finite orthotropic members is presented for rigid bolts in series with the direction of loading. The analysis solves for the contact stresses and accounts for the in-plane geometry, bolt clearance, bolt friction, and relative motion and different load ratios between the loading bolts. Although the plates are assumed to respond linear elastically, the problem is nonlinear due to the change in contact area with change in load.
