摘要
It has been found that 1,4-bis(2-methylstyryl)benzene (MSB) is approximately 520 times as effective as methyl methacrylate in capturing the benzoyloxy radicals generated at 60-degrees-C by dissociation of benzoyl peroxide. This result has been obtained from examinations of the end groups in samples of poly (methyl methacrylate) prepared using benzoyl peroxide as initiator in the presence of MSB at low concentrations.
