摘要
It is shown that the contact time distribution is the exact heterogeneous counterpart of the ordinary residence time distribution. The Danckwerts-Zwietering Theory of Segregation is extended to heterogeneous reactions. With a known contact time distribution, the yield of a first order reaction can be predicted uniquely. For other order reactions, bounds on the yield may be calculated from the mixing extremes of complete segretation and maximum mixedness. A companion paper discusses methods for measuring CTD's and presents experimental results for a 6 in. fluidized bed. © 1968.
