摘要
The search for improved vaccine adjuvants has intensifi ed recently with the growing popularity of subunit vaccines. These vaccines can induce efficient antibody response and cellular immunity without the safety constraints of live vaccines, but must overcome their poor immunogenicity. Next-generation vaccine adjuvants offer several advantages over conventional adjuvants and can be rationally designed to meet the requirements of the antigen. This review analyzes current research in the field of vaccine adjuvant design, with an emphasis on polymeric vaccine adjuvants.
