LASER-PULSE SHORTENING TO SUBPICOSECOND IN EXTRACAVITY DYE SOLUTIONS

摘要
Pulse shortening is obtained by propagation of a spiked laser pulse in extracavity saturable media. A saturated multipass dye amplifier followed by a single pass thick saturable absorber is shown to be able to isolate the first spike of a 100 ps pulse emitted by a 40 μm dye laser cavity. High power subpicosecond pulses are obtained at 600-610 nm with additional amplifiers. © 1990.
