摘要
Carbidic carbon on Ni(110) (2 X 1)C phase has been obtained by exposing the clean surface at 520 K to ethylene gas in the 10(-7)-torr range. By angle-resolved photoemission experiments, bands of the carbon overlayer system have been mapped along the GAMMA-X and GAMMA-Y directions of the surface Brillouin zone. The comparison of our data with photoemission measurements and theoretical calculations on similar systems suggests a possible carbon chemisorption on a threefold-coordination site at the (110) surface of nickel.
