摘要
Binary difference fields are introduced. They are isomorphic to the state-time evolution of the rule-102 binary cellular automaton. A particular conservation law controls the evolution. The fields that emerge may exhibit highly structured complex patterns. An isomorphic structure involving a walk on a certain integer-valued fractal matrix is introduced. © 1990.
