摘要
Experimental results are presented on the nonvolatile analog storage and update of data in a bistable optically addressed, amorphous silicon, ferroelectric liquid-crystal spatial light modulator. Integration of positive and negative optical updates is observed and attributed to ferroelectric domain formation. A computer simulation is used to describe a possible mechanism for this domain formation based on spatially distributed charge capture, with good agreement obtained between simulated and experimental results.
