摘要
We report the results of magnetic susceptibility measurements on a single crystal of anhydrous CrCl2 that we expect to be an S = 2 linear-chain Heisenberg antiferromagnet. The susceptibilities parallel and perpendicular to the c-axis show rounded maxima at around 40 K. The result is analyzed with the numerical calculation for the S = 2 magnetic chain, and the value J/k(B) = - 9.5 K is obtained for the intrachain exchange constant.
