摘要
The clean Pt(110) surface in an electrolyte solution exhibits a (1 x 2) reconstructed structure. The production of the nonreconstructed (1 x 1) phase was observed by adsorption of CO on the surface. The potential cyclization induces a rearrangement of the Pt(100) surface atoms to form the (1 x 1) structure. In contrast, the Pt(111) surface exhibits a larger stability against reconstruction than the other two orientations.
