Possible crystal lattices of a layer of barrel-like C60 molecules - barrelenes - covalently bound to each other are discussed: one rectangular (a=5.7 angstrom, b=6.3 angstrom) and two hexagonal (a1=6.3 angstrom or a2=5.7 angstrom) which may differ in chemical activity of the layer surface. Thus data obtained under rapid compression by high-surface pressure monomolecular LB C60 films are explained. We show that such layers placed one onto another may form a layered crystal. Doping of the interlayer space by metal atoms should change the conductivity of such a crystal, as occurs in the fullerides, but, in contrast to the latter, may cause high anisotropy of physical properties.
