EFFECTS OF SOLVENT COMPOSITION AND TEMPERATURE ON THE SEPARATION OF ANILINES WITH SILICA, AMINO, AND DIAMINE BONDED PHASE COLUMNS

摘要
By the use of extrathermodynamic relationships, i.e., linear free energy relationship and linear .DELTA.H-pKb relationship, a retention mode change induced by the change of mobile phase composition for the liquid chromatographic separations of several substituted anilines using amino and diamine-bonded phase columns is demonstrated. The change is not obvious when a silica column is used. Possible interaction modes are proposed at a molecular level as static views of the retention process involving hydrogen bonding as the interaction force.
