AZARUTHENOCENES - PREPARATION OF [(ETA-5-C4ME4N)RU(ETA-5-C5ME5)] AND [(ETA-5-C4ME4N)2RU], THE 1ST RUTHENIUM METALLOCENES INCORPORATING ETA-5-PYRROLYL LIGANDS

摘要
Treatment of [(eta5-C5Me5)RuCl2]x with (2,3,4,5-tetramethylpyrrolyl)lithium affords the novel azaruthenocene [(eta5-C4Me4N)RU(eta5-C5Me5)] (I) in 81% yield. The novel diazaruthenocene [(eta5-C4Me4N)2Ru] (2) is obtained as a minor byproduct in this reaction. The reaction of (2,3,4,5-tetramethylpyrrolyl)lithium and [(eta4-C7H8)-RuCl2]x gives 2 in 78% yield. These new complexes have been characterized by a combination of elemental analysis and NMR spectroscopic methods and exhibit notable stability.
