摘要
We model the infrared-ultraviolet spectrum assuming that the intrinsic radiation due to an accretion disc and a spherical power-law component is reprocessed by an optically thin dust cloud surrounding the nucleus. We find that in order to explain the infrared data for bright AGN we have to assume that only graphite grains are present. This means that the dereddening of optical/ultraviolet spectra should not be done using an extinction curve for graphite/silicate standard interstellar composition. However, further studies are necessary to determine the location of the dust along our line of sight.
