摘要
This communication has been stimulated by the recent paper of Kolkka et al. [1]. They employ the Johnson-Segalman model [2] with a non-Newtonian viscosity to relate the spurt phenomenon of Vinogradov et al. [3] to non-monotonic constitutive behavior between shear stress and shear rate. In the present work we show that some simple ideas drawn from continuum and molecular models are consistent with data on slip flow of well-characterized polybutadienes.
