摘要
This paper presents an easy method of measuring radon - 222 accumulation concentration in air. CR - 39 chips manufactured by Pershore Mouldings LTD. of England and Karlsruhe diffusion chambers are used for radon accumulation detectors. After exposure, the CR - 39 chips are etched in 6.25N NaOH at 80-degrees-C for four hours. Typical and clear alpha tracks can be observed with a microscope. The relationship between alpha track density and radon accumulation concentration is proportional (r>0.9990). The calibration efficiencies of two batches of CR - 39 chips are 5.54 and 5.79 tracks cm-2 per kBq m-3 h, respectively. With one month exposure in air, the detection limit is 7.0 Bq m-3 and standard deviation of the method is less than 15%.
