摘要
This study concerns the separated laminar forced convection near surface-mounted ribs. Temperature profiles and local heat transfer coefficients were calculated for the entire domain of interest through the well-known SIMPLE/HD numerical scheme. With all walls maintained at a uniform temperature, numerical experiments were performed for a rib aspect ratio (width divided by height) of w/s equals 1, 2, and 4 at different Reynolds numbers covering the range 63. 5 less than equivalent to Re, less than equivalent to 254. Results indicate that the average Nusselt number in the vicinity of the rib is a function of the Reynolds number and aspect ratio and that it can be correlated by an equation of the form Nu OVER BAR //t equals 0. 0731(Re//s)**0**. **4**9(w/s)**0**. **2**5.
