摘要
Results of studies of the structural and electronic properties of Fe in the simple cubic structure using the full potential linearized augmented plane wave (FLAPW) method within the local density approximation show that the metastable phase does not order magnetically. Instead, calculations based on the crude rigid ion approximation predict this system to become superconducting at Tc∼ 10 K. The possible effects of spin fluctuations on severely reducing Tc have been estimated. © 1990.
