CHAINS AND STARS IN ORGANOPLATINUM OLIGOMERS

摘要
A method for synthesis of new oligomers and a polymer containing organoplatinum centers is reported. Reaction of[PtMe(2)(bu(2)bipy)], 1b, bu(2)bipy = 4,4'-di-tert-butyl-2,2'-bipyridine, with 4-(bromomethyl)-4'-methyl-2,2'-bipyridine, A, gave the complex [PtBrMe(2)(bu(2)bipy)(CH(2)C(5)H(3)NC(5)H(3)NMe)], 2, by oxidative addition of the C-Br bond to platinum(II). Reaction of 2 with [Pt(2)Me(4)(mu-SMe(2))(2)], B, gave the (PtPtII)-Pt-IV complex [PtBrMe(2)(bu(2)bipy)(mu-CH(2)C(5)H(3)NC(5)H(3)NMe)PtMe(2)], 3, by displacement of the Me(2)S ligands from B by the free bipyridine group of 2 to regenerate a reactive dimethylplatinum(II) center. Repetition of this cycle of reactions gave [PtBrMe(2)(bu(2)bipy){(mu-CH(2)C(5)H(3)NC(5)H(3)NMe)PtBrMe(2)}(n)(CH(2)C(5)H(3)Nc(5)H(3)NMe)] (4, n = 1; 6, n = 2) and [PtBrMe(2)(bu(2)bipy){(mu-CH(2)C(5)H(3)NC(5)H(3)NMe)PtBrMe(2)}(n)(mu-CH2C5H3-NC(5)H(3)NMe)PtMe(2)] (5, n = 1; 7, n = 2). Reaction of A with B gave the insoluble polymer [{PtBrMe(2)(mu-CH(2)C(5)H(3)NC(5)H(3)NMe)}(n)]. Star-shaped oligomers containing platinum(IV) centers were obtained by reaction of 1,2,4,5-(BrCH2)(4)C6H2 with the complexes 1, 3, or 5 to give 1,2,4,5-[PtBrMe(2)(bu(2)bipy){(eta-CH2C5H3NC5H(3)NMe)PtBrMe(2)}nCH2](4)-C6H2 (n = 0, 10b; n = 1, 11; and n = 2, 12, respectively).
