FIXATION OF POLYMERIZABLE SURFACTANT ON ALUMINA BY UV-IRRADIATION

摘要
When an anionic surfactant (SE-10N) was adsorbed on positively charged alumina at pH 3.5, a patch-like bilayer was formed at 0.35 mmol dm−3 or above. Subsequent polymerization of such a system with UV irradiation in the presence of an initiator fixes the SE-10N strongly on alumina. Even after the washing process, the fixed SE-10N was not desorbed. These behaviors were observed from the measurement of the zeta potential. © 1993 Academic Press, Inc.
