摘要
How does one learn to listen to a patient in psychoanalytic psychotherapy? The problem is approached from within and without the discipline, borrowing from the arts as well as the sciences in an effort to deepen the therapist''s understanding of patient material, an understanding upon which all therapeutic interventions must be based. How to teach this skill, and the effect it has on the personal life of the therapist and his or her loved ones is discussed.
