LIMITS TO EDEN GROWTH IN 2-DIMENSIONS AND 3-DIMENSIONS

摘要
We have simulated Eden growth for a range of cluster sizes N, and noise reduction parameters m, in d = 2 and d = 3 dimensions. As m varies from one to infinity, for large but finite N, the cluster morphology, varies continuously from a circle to a diamond in d = 2 and from a sphere to a bi-pyramid in d = 3. Our results clearly demonstrate, at least for the cluster morphology, that the large m limit does not properly describe the asymptotics of the regular (m = 1) Eden model.
