摘要
The accumulation of CO2 in the atmosphere rather than the scarcity of fossile fuels may be the future constrain on fossile energy use. A solution for the petroleum industry is to take the large volume offered by oil and gas reservoirs into use as these can store two thirds of the CO2 produced by combustion of the world's oil and gas reserves. Concepts for combining power production with CO2 injection into petroleum reservoirs are presented. Only as injection fluid for improved oil recovery large quantities of CO2 can be utilized commercially. A brief economic analysis show that an emission free gas power plant for given conditions has a positive present value.
