摘要
A cumulation of the shear strain energy at the soil surface as a response to underground shear excitations is considered. It is shown that this effect is caused by the vanishing shear modulus at the soil surface. The corresponding mathematical model is presented by a linear hyperbolic equation with variable coefficients. The uniqueness and stability of the solutions are analyzed. © 1983 by ASME.
