OPTIMAL NMR MEASUREMENTS FOR SLOW EXCHANGE IN 2-SITE AND 3-SITE SYSTEMS

摘要
Generalized spin relaxation measurements provide the best approach to the study of chemical systems undergoing exchange which is slow on the NMR time scale. The system is perturbed, and then the return to equilibrium under the influence of relaxation and exchange is measured. How much a particular process influences the relaxation depends on how the system was initially perturbed. We have recently shown how the initial perturbation can be chosen to give the optimal experiment. In this work we present some theoretical results on systems of two and three sites to illustrate some of the simple applications of this technique.
